Surrounding Areas...

Lake Tuzla

Arguably one of the most stunning locations in Turkey, Lake Tuzla is formed by the deep inlet from the Gulf of Güllük and Mandalya Bay. Lake Tuzla is surrounded by mountains covered with Olive groves, Pine and Tamarisk trees and the area is particularly special as a natural bird sanctuary; throughout the year a large variety of rare birds including Pelicans, Flamingos and White Storks can be seen flocking to the wetlands.

Bodrum

A charming little port located on the southern coast of Bodrum Penninsula, Bodrum is a popular and well-known tourist destination.

With many beach bars and restaurants along with a myriad of boutiques and shops, Bodrum is a great day out. It is also an international centre for yachting. Bodrum Castle, built in the 15th century looks out over the International Marina and the harbour and the castle also hosts a few cultural festivals throughout the year.

The Tomb of Mausolus, Mausoleum of Mausolus or Mausoleum, which was built between 353 and 350 BC is mentioned as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

MyBeach

MyBeach is a 5 minute taxi ride from Turquoise and is an idyllic, peaceful spot in a secluded bay; ideal for both swimming and sun bathing with a pleasant sea breeze. MyBeach really is a gem on the coastline and is set in pretty landscaped gardens with beach bungalows and sun loungers. The beach bungalows all have large, comfortable scatter cushions and each one overlooks the stunning Aegean Sea. A perfect place to chill for the day...

Boğaziçi

Boğaziçi holds an important place in history as the site of the ancient city of Bargilia. After exploring the unspoilt authentic stone village, a swim in the clear blue water is perfect. Small fishing boats come and go throughout the day delivering their catch to restaurants on the shore, where you can dine and relax overlooking the glittering Mandalya Bay.

Guvercinlik

Guvercinlik is about 10 minutes from Turquoise on the road into Bodrum and is one of many typical sleepy villages that scatter the peninsula. Each village is unique and any visitor who has some time on their hands should pay a visit here. Nestled in a sweeping bay embraced by untouched mountains, head to Guvercinlik for the Monday market or watch the sunset from one of the waterfront restaurants. The view from here is truly priceless.

Milas

Milas town and the surrounding area hosts numerous sites of historical interest. Today you can explore the ruins of the ancient Mylasa, dating back to 3000 B.C. Milas is also known for its fine carpet weaving tradition. Craftsmen and weavers can still be seen at work in the town today. The beautifully restored 'Milas Houses' are another popular attraction displaying the carving work unique to the region.
